Cost of Patrick Reynolds'
Fees for US only
Overseas rates are higher
The cost for Mr. Reynolds' presentation to any group of adults in the US is $4,000, plus travel expenses from Los Angeles. Mr. Reynolds' program for adults generally runs 90 minutes, but some clients want a shorter talk. He usually speaks for 30 to 45 minutes, as requested. The time remaining is for Q&A with the audience. Press interviews and meet-and-greets are included. Travel expenses within the US are usually under $1,000.
Alternatively, Mr. Reynolds can speak to youth in local middle or high schools. He will give two assembly programs for $4,000 plus travel. Mr. Reynolds can give up to three youth talks per day.
For clients who choose two youth talks, Mr. Reynolds also offers a complementary 20 minute talk to adults. This could be on a hospital campus, at a luncheon or venue of your choosing. Following his 20 minute talk, he answers questions from the audience.
If his complete program for adults is preferred, a talk at a middle or high school may be added for $2,000 additional.
About half of our hospital clients have opted for two youth talks at local schools, and have found this to be an effective outreach to the community, and an equally strong media draw.
Hospitals Partnering with Hospitals
Some hospitals have teamed up with other local hospitals to keep Mr. Reynolds speaking in their community for three to five days at schools. This has enabled thousands children in those communities to hear him speak live.
Local Health Department Tobacco
Coordinators Can Help Book Schools
Hospitals can get support in booking Mr. Reynolds into local middle and high schools from the person assigned to tobacco control in the county health department. Some funding may even be available toward school talks from the health department, although only a handful of States have significant funding for tobacco prevention.
Venues in which Mr. Reynolds has spoken professionally have included hospitals, local colleges, civic auditoriums, charity benefits and local schools.
Some high schools permit community members to be invited to their school to attend his youth talks. After students return to class, community members stay on for his complementary 20 minute adult talk, and then have Q&A. When schools don't have room for community members, Mr. Reynolds will give his free talk to adults on a hospital campus, at a luncheon or other local venue, if desired.
The Student Activities Director at a local college may provide a venue on their campus, and sometimes co-sponsor; colleges usually have a budget for guest lecturers. Call the Student Activities Office at a local college to propose the idea.
Scheduling talks and flights
If you desire an evening presentation, please schedule it on the same day he arrives from Los Angeles. This will avoid two overnight stays.
Because Mr. Reynolds is traveling from California, he is accustomed to that time zone. If you are in the Midwest or East, please make best efforts to avoid scheduling his first day's talk in the early morning. An 8am talk in the East, for example, equates to 5am, California time. So if he's arriving from California the night before, late morning times are best, if possible. If he is already on the road, it will not matter. On subsequent tour days, talks may be scheduled early.
On the final tour day, please make best efforts to schedule his last talk in the morning, so that he can make a flight which will land back in Los Angeles by 8pm, if possible. Lupe Lopez in our office can work together with you on travel arrangements, after our standard contract has been signed.
Check airline schedules as a first step toward planning his talk times there. If there are no flights after his last talk, he may be required to stay a second night, and his normal minimum speaking fee per overnight stay is $4,000. However, if a $2,000 talk at a local school is booked the next morning in time for a noon flight home, he will stay a second night without a $4,000 minimum.
In any case, it's a good idea to check airline schedules first. Delta is his preferred airline, as they often upgrade his ticket.
We also recommend the new educational video of his live talk for 7th to 12th grade.
Whether Mr. Reynolds speaks to large or small groups, media coverage is usually excellent in medium size cities. It's a great way to bring the smokefree message to your entire city, generate goodwill, and make a difference in the local community.
